PERMANENT CHEF – CANNES

Our European client is currently seeking a very good chef to become part of their long-term staff, working at the clients luxury villa in Cannes. The clients can be in residence for several weeks at a time and they also will travel frequently for several weeks. During their periods of residence they require the chef to prepare lunch and dinner for usually 2 guests; there will also be busier periods of entertaining, usually several days in a row when there will be family/guests visiting and the numbers to cook for will increase. During these busy periods the chef will be required to also prepare breakfasts. The Principals have fairly regular meal times, lunch being at 12.30-13.00 and dinner being 18.30-19.00.

Duties will include:

  • Meal preparation

  • Shopping

  • Maintaining a meticulously clean kitchen

  • Preparing staff meals for 1 person

Requirements:

  • Excellent previous chef experience in private villas or on yachts

  • Excellent letters of reference

  • Ability to provide a wide range of cuisines to a high level

  • A very high level of personal and kitchen hygiene

  • Smart and well-presented

  • An EU passport or a French carte de sejours

  • Fluent English essential

  • It is essential to live within easy travelling distance of Cannes

  • Flexible approach when Principals in residence

Salary: €5k net pm

VILLA CHEF - ST PAUL DE VENCE - 1 - 31 JULY​ POSITION NOW FILLED

An experienced personal chef is required to provide lunch and dinner 7 days per week for this 4 week booking, cooking for a family vacationing at their villa in St Paul de Vence. The chef will also provide simple staff meals for 5/6 staff also employed at the property. In general there will be 3-7 family members staying at the villa throughout the booking period with some or all having lunch and/or supper, when guests are also staying with the family there will be a maximum of 12 at mealtimes, there are no children to cook for in this group. If possible the chef should be able to invoice the client for this summer booking. The family will be leaving on their yacht on 22nd July however the chef will still be booked up until the end of the month.

Duties:

•             Provide lunch and dinner for 3-12 guests

•             Prepare fresh, light Mediterranean and Asian cuisines

•             Provide simple staff meals for 5/6 people

•             Maintain a clean, working environment/fridges etc

•             Work well within a small interior team

Requirements:

•             Several years prior/similar experience

•             Good knowledge of Mediterranean and Asian cuisines, fresh fish and seafood dishes

•             Good BBQ knowledge

•             Driver with own vehicle

•             Able to invoice the client for the booking period

•             Excellent plating/presentation skills

•             Speak fluent English

•             Excellent references

This role does not provide accommodation however the client will pay accommodation allowance of €80 per day for the chef to source their own accommodation if necessary. Occasionally at weekends the chef might be asked to provide a brunch instead of a lunch but in general the chef will prepare lunch and dinner for the family.  It is essential that the chef speaks a good level of English and speaks enough French to be able to shop locally for produce etc.

Salary: €500 brut per day ( + accommodation allowance for non-local chefs)

LIVE-IN CHEF - AIX EN PROVENCE - ASAP FOR 5/6 MONTHS POSITION NOW FILLED

Our British client is seeking an experienced high-level chef to join his long-term chef, cooking for a variety of UHNW guests throughout the summer season, in a large luxury property in Aix en Provence. The chef must have excellent experience in restaurants and/or hotels, have exquisite plating skills and good interpersonal/communication skills with both colleagues and guests. The chef will work on rotation with the client's other chef, it is essential that these two chefs develop a good working relationship.

This client usually books a chef who is able to legally invoice monthly for the booking period therefore  a chef with a microenterprise or similar entity is preferred.

The chef should be a driver and preferably have their own transport and as the villa location is quite rural, accommodation is provided.

Salary: €6k per month negotiable.

Start date: ASAP

PRIVATE CHEF - 5TH & 7TH MAY (POSSIBLE 3 MONTHS IN SUMMER) - THEOULE SUR MER POSITION NOW FILLED

Our client is seeking a private chef to prepare lunch and dinner at their home in Theoule sur Mer for two days - 5th May ( 2pax) and 7th May (5pax). The client will be returning for the summer  - probably mid-June to mid-Sept and will use this 2 day period in May as a trial to see how they like the chosen chef.

They enjoy a high standard of healthy Mediterranean, European and Asian cuisines, they do not need Michelin-starred cuisine and presentation but are still looking for delicious, well-presented meals.

This role does not offer accommodation.

Requirements:

  • Excellent previous experience

  • A plating portfolio to show to clients

  • Live with easy travelling distance of Theoule sur Mer

  • Able to legally invoice the clients

  • Have own transport

  • Speak fluent English

  • Have an EU passport or French carte de sejour

Salary: €400 brut per day negotiable

CHEF/BUTLER DOMESTIC COUPLE – VALLAURIS

Our client is currently seeking a domestic couple for their property in Vallauris/Super Cannes. This is a relatively rare opportunity as unusually one of the couple should be a good chef with the other of the couple providing excellent butler/guest service skills. The client’s current couple are retiring after having been in situ for the last 20 years. The female of this current couple provides top level cuisines and also oversees the general housekeeping. The male of the current couple is a top level maitre d’hotel and along with providing excellent guest services and some chauffeuring, he also oversees the property’s maintenance. This client is open to having the male provide the chef services.

Duties will include

  • High level cooking

  • 5* table and guest services

  • Oversight of housekeeping

  • Oversight of general property maintenance

  • Preparation of household accounts

  • Stock control and inventory

  • Occasional chauffeuring when available

Requirements

  • Excellent similar prior experience

  • Excellent chef and butler experience

  • Excellent letters of reference

  • EU passport or French residency essential

  • Fluent English plus one of the couple must speak a good conversational level

  • Clean driving licenses for both of the couple

The employers offer with this role a staff apartment of approx. 80 sqm with a door leading onto the villa grounds of 1 hectare.
