Live-In Chateau Head Chef ~ Provence ~ Mid April to Mid Sept

A beautiful chateau rental property is seeking a very experienced Head Chef to lead a small team of kitchen staff catering to the daily requirements of varying numbers of rental guests who will be staying at the property next summer. The chateau offers their rental guests a true taste of Provence with their exceptional organic wines and it is essential that they are also able to offer the daily services of a chef who can provide the very best in Provencal cuisine.

Duties:

  • Providing breakfast/lunch/dinner - plus canapes/snacks/teas/picnics etc if requested

  • Purchasing and stock control

  • Kitchen staff rotas

  • Kitchen accounts and budgeting

  • Using mainly organic and locally grown ingredients

  • Working 6 days per week

 

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience working at a high level in restaurants and private homes

  • An extensive knowledge of modern and traditional Provencal and Mediterranean cuisines

  • A proven record of working well and respectfully with colleagues and junior staff

  • Previous experience leading a small kitchen team

  • Speaks fluent French and fluent English

  • A good knowledge of special dietary needs, vegan/gluten-free/lactose-free etc

  • Driver with own car

  • Excellent letters of reference

 

Accommodation is offered within purpose built staff accommodation close to the property and it is very important to the owner and the property managers that the chateau summer household team are positive and upbeat, working as a strong, supportive and cohesive team. Meals are provided during staff working hours. Applicants must have an EU passport or have a current carte de sejour allowing employment in France.

Salary: €5k npm

Start date: Mid April ‘23

Permanent  Housekeeper ~ Cannes

An experienced and discreet housekeeper with an exceptional eye for detail is required to join a small team of year round housekeepers working in a large luxury property in Cannes. This is a busy villa with the British/American family in residence for approximately 6 months per year, June to September plus the family use the property for Christmas and the month of January. The family is quite large with grandparents, parents and young children therefore applicants must be able to work on rotation with the other housekeepers when there are family/guests in residence.

Duties will include:

  • General Housekeeping/Cleaning

  • Household and Personal Laundry

  • Driving (occasional to take Madame shopping)

Requirements:

  • Excellent previous experience

  • Keen ‘eye for detail’

  • Works well in a team

  • Driving license

  • Own transport (car or scooter)

  • Good English/some French preferable

  • European passport or valid titre de sejour

  • Live within a 15 kms radius of Cannes

When the employers are in residence the housekeeper will work in weekly changing shifts (7.30 to 15.30/9h to 17h/12h to 20h) 6 days per week. When clients are not in residence working hours will be Mon to Fri - 8h to 17h. It is very important to this employer that his staff work in a happy, upbeat environment therefore it is essential that the new housekeeper must have an excellent record of working well within a team previously. Applicants must have their own form of transport as when employers are in residence there will be some evening shift work; there is no nearby public transport available. The employer is currently in residence at the villa and would like to meet candidates over the following 10 days with a view to the housekeeper starting work full-time  in early November.

Salary: €2.3k npm negotiable

Start date: Late Oct/Early Nov

Long Term Chef ~ Monaco 

A chef who is experienced in a variety of cuisines including Mediterranean, French, Vegetarian etc is required to join the interior team in a private household in Monaco. Applicants must already be located within easy travelling distance of Monaco, must speak English and preferably some spoken French and be able to work well within an established interior team. The chef should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with last minute changes to numbers and menus and able to deal with specific dietary needs when necessary.

Salary: Negotiable

Start date: ASAP
