LIVE-IN GARDIEN/HANDYMAN/GARDENER – BRIGNOLES

Our returning European clients are currently seeking a proactive and energetic property gardien to care for their large rural property close to Brignoles. This role will not offer a CDI as the property is currently for sale therefore the property gardien should be willing to work on a 6 month repeating CDD or be able to legally invoice the client via a microenterprise or similar. It is unlikely that the property will sell quickly therefore it could be several months or possibly longer as the owners- who are in residence for several months each year – will wait for the right buyer. This employer is friendly and approachable with a family who are equally polite and considerate. Very nice independent accommodation located on the property is offered with this role.

Duties will include:

  • General grounds care

  • Assist in the maintenance of the kitchen garden

  • General interior and exterior property maintenance

  • Occasional driving

  • Liaise with local contractors

  • Care of chickens and family dog

  • Maintain general security

Requirements:

  • Good handyman and garden maintenance skills

  • Excellent references from previous employers/clients

  • Physical strength for any heavy lifting/handling of garden machinery etc

  • A good level of spoken English (or German) and conversational French

  • EU passport or a French carte de sejour

Salary: €2.2k npm (negotiable)

LIVE-IN GARDENER – DORDOGNE

Our British client is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable gardener to help care for the grounds of his newly purchased chateau in the Dordogne. The client is also employing two people who have varying roles at the property including assisting, when possible, with the maintenance of 2-3 hectares of garden at the property, nearly all of which is laid to lawn with some topiary. The client also wants to establish a large walled kitchen garden/potager which the gardener will plant out and take care of.

It must be understood that this is not a head gardener role, this is a job for a hands-on gardener who during each week will have some assistance in providing maintenance of the grounds, however both assistants will also have other main duties providing interior/exterior maintenance and driving, therefore they will not always be at the disposal of the main gardener.

Requirements:

  • Excellent prior experience

  • Excellent references

  • Fluent English and conversational French

  • Clean driving license

  • Applicants must be happy to live and work in a quiet, rural area.

  • EU passport or French carte de sejour

  • Works well with other staff within the chateau team

Accommodation for a single person is offered with this role.

Salary: €3.5k net pm negotiable

CARETAKER/HANDYMAN/GARDEN – DORDOGNE

We are seeking experienced candidates for a caretaker role in a beautiful chateau in the Dordogne.  The British employer is recruiting for several roles in this newly purchased property. The grounds are approximately 3 hecatares which are laid almost totally to lawn with topiary and hedging to be regularly trimmed. This role offers accommodation.

Duties will include:

  • Interior and Exterior Maintenance

  • Garden Maintenance (lawns and topiary)

  • Daily Pool Care

  • Driving on drivers day off

  • Assist interior staff with heavy cleaning windows etc

Requirements:

  • Excellent previous experience in a similar role

  • Excellent references

  • EU passport or a French carte de sejour

  • Good spoken English, some spoken French preferred

  • Clean European driving license

  • A flexible and willing approach

  • Works well within a team

  • Able to take instruction when given

Salary: €3k net pm
